As anticipated, my research interests fall generally within the domain of particle physics and astrophysics - or the so-called “astroparticle physics”. I am particularly fascinated by neutrinos: their study and use for scientific research. In fact, I have, so far, devoted most of my (short) scientific career to neutrino experimental physics.
But most of all, I am an experimentalist. I am particularly specialised in the high energy physics detection. I have, so far, participated in the design, commissioning, running, optimisation, calibration and data analyses of a few experiments.
Within my work in neutrinos, I have participated in the MINOS and Double Chooz neutrino oscillation experiments, using beam (GeV) and reactor (MeV) neutrinos, respectively. Prior to that, I have the great pleasure to study some general particle physics at the University of Oxford and CERN and high energy astronomy (gamma-rays and cosmic-rays) during my undergraduate degree at the University of Leeds.
