We follow the general style guide lines in the textbk2 outline
with the exception that at the moment we are using Cowan's fudge 
for citations - the citation cross-reference appears as eg
Perkins [Per89] in the text and under 
[Per89] Perkins ...
in the bibliography - which is alphabetically ordered. I also think
it useful if we can add the hep-ph or hep-ex number for references 
after 1994/5. There are two macros in the dis_defs file for citations:
\Journal for journal refs (to most standard journals)
\arxiv   for hep-ph etc numbers

Cross-reference to equations, figures etc

 Eq. 3.10   so  Eq.~\ref{x310}   except when first word of sentence
 Tab. 2.6                        in which write out in full.
 Fig. 4.3     etc
 Sec. 2


Otherwise we can use the Foster et al ZEUS paper writing guide...
