Our computer systems and networks are run by the various IT staff within Physics.
However in order to get the most out of the resources it's up to all of us to help
in its smooth running. It is basically a question of being a considerate user and
thinking of others. In particular:-
- Don't leave yourself logged into any unattended PC, including in your office.
Either logout or lock the screen befoe eaving the systems unattended.
- Don't run long CPU-intensive jobs on our interactive machines
e.g. pplxintnn, instead submit them to our processor farm.
- When collecting your output from a printer, stack up any other user's
output you find.
