Xconfig Communication

Use this tool to change the hosts you connect to. Double clicking leads to a dialogue box from which you can select Mode from one of the following:-

XDMCP-query

This mode automatically connects to a single host. Handy if you only ever talk to one host.

XDMCP-broadcast

This mode looks to see what hosts can be connected to. It can also automatically connect to the first such host. You probably don't want this, so press the Configure... button and make sure the Select first Display Manager box is not ticked. To modify the list of hosts that can be connected to press the Configure... button, tick the Host File List box, and press Edit... to edit the file, which should be xdmcp.txt.

XDMCP-indirect

Don't use this mode.
