The XDVI Previewer

XDVI is TEX and L^ATEX previewer. To try this out type:-

xdvi example

A image of the first page (and only page in this example!) of your document should appear with a series of control buttons down the right hand side of the window. For the most part browsing the document using these controls is both simple and sufficient although one additional tip is worth mentioning: to jump directly to a specific page type in the page number followed by the letter ``g''
